Atonement
by Ian McEwan
Atonement was...interesting. I have never read a book quite like it. The story began on an English manor in 1935. The story focuses on the viewpoints of three characters: 13-year-old Briony, her older sister Cecilia, and their neighbor and friend Robbie. All of their lives change one night when Briony tells a lie. This book was VERY descriptive, so it was kind of a hard read for me. I'm not a big fan of description. But I did like it overall. The story was good, but the ending really made me think! It changed the whole way I thought and felt about the book. The last chapter made the book worth reading for me, even though I didn't really like how the story ended! I know I haven't given you much info about the story, but I don't want to give anything away if you decide to read it.
This book is being made into a movie, staring Keira Knightley.
