Once upon A Marigold by Jean Ferris
This is a story of everything but the kitchen sink. It is a sweet, funny and silly,fairy tale about an idiomatically ignorant troll, a runaway boy, and the girl of his dreams. Christian, who at the age of 6 ran away and now lives with a troll, has been watching Marigold, a princess with a love for books, with whom he becomes smitten. Christian exchanges anonymous pigeon-mail with the princess and eventually leaves the care of his loving troll and is hired to work at the castle. He watches Marigold up close now and cares for her even more learns of the queens plan to marry off Marigold and take the thrown for herself. With original twists and turns it is a pleasent read for people of all ages.
Rating - PG
There is nothing but sweet dialogue and could easily be a disney film.
Stars - ****
I did not know whether to give it 3 or 4 stars so I always go up. This is a kids book but I loved every page. I love the quick plot and how it all came together.
